We have an exciting new opportunity to join our sales team as a Business Development Manager, covering the North of the UK.

 

Joining the existing sales force and reporting directly to the Sales and Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for generating new business in the North of the UK while building and maintaining relationships with our customers.

 

 Job role specifics 

  • Creating development plans and forecasting sales targets.

  • Identifying market opportunities through meetings, networking and other channels.

  • Meeting existing and potential clients and building positive relationships.

  • Pitching sales and products to new and existing clients.

  • Liaising with colleagues to develop sales and marketing strategies.

  • Preparing financial projections and sales targets and actively working towards them.

  • Possessing a strong understanding of the company’s products, the competition in the industry and positioning.

  • Attending events such as exhibitions and conferences.

  • Preparing sales presentations and participating in sales meetings.

  • Producing reports for management.

  • Aiming to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.

 

 Your skills and experience 

  • The ability to sell ideas, products and services.

  • Proven sales track record.

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask.

  • A strategic and creative mind.

  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to build rapport.

  • Technical skills to understand and propose products or solutions by focusing on the client’s requirements.

  • Solid IT skills and knowledge of necessary software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other statistical analysis software.

  • The ability to motivate themselves and others.

  • A solid understanding of business and marketing principles.

  • Scientific background with an understanding mass spectrometry and chromatography instruments.
